​Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Secondary School History Teacher in Royston to start in October 2022, initially until the February half term, however the school are keen to extend the contract for the right candidate.

This school, now rated “GOOD” by OFSTED, is looking for staff to maintain these standards and help the school and its students to thrive. The school takes a holistic approach to its curriculum to ensure students develop not only academically, but as well rounded individuals.

Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 History curriculum

  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources

  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school

  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons

  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in secondary schools

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching humanities at secondary school level.

  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management

  • A relevant History related degree is desirable.

  • SEND experience is desirable
