​Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Secondary School Science Teacher in Watford to start in October 2022, for day-to-day and short term supply work.

We work with a number of schools in and around Watford, as well as across Hertfordshire, and supply teaching is an excellent way to gain experience in a variety of schools and build your confidence as a teacher. It is also a great way to build relationships with schools and often leads to long-term and permanent roles.

Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics

  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources

  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school

  • Deliver the lesson plans left by the regular teacher and support the students with their learning

  • Manage the behaviour of the class and ensure they are on target with the work

  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Science at secondary school level.

  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management

  • A relevant Science related degree is desirable

  • SEND experience is desirable
