Step teachers are working with a school in the Great Yarmouth District who are looking for a Science teacher to join their team in January 2023. This position is offered on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year.

The school is a “good” Ofsted-rated school whose pupil’s achievement has risen since the school opened. The senior leaders routinely monitor the progress of the students who are at a disadvantage and provide intensive support for those who need it most. Behaviour is good and pupils are respectful and courteous towards staff and their peers.

Role: 

  • Strong Science curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4 

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

​Step Teachers are seeking a qualified Maths teacher to work as an NTP Tutor in a secondary school in Attleborough, Norfolk.

There is a 2-week rotating timetable and you can be expected to tutor between 3.5 to 5 hours a day. Session lengths vary from 30 minutes to 1-hour.

The First week is Wednesday to Friday, the second week is Tuesday and Wednesday. Then it alternates between the 2 weeks.

The pupils have been specially selected to be part of the programme to help them catch up to their peers and rebuild their confidence. Therefore, the school must have the same tutor for the entire duration of the assignment. Sessions will be with groups between 3-6 pupils from across all year groups from 7 to 11.

The rate of pay is £27 per hour.

Being an NTP tutor is convenient for qualified teachers who are looking to get back into work after periods of time away from teaching and want part-time, flexible hours to fit current commitments.

To be an NTP Tutor you will need to have one of the following

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent

  • A degree in either Maths, English, Science, Humanities, or Modern Foreign Languages and strong tutoring experience.

The right candidate must...

  • Have strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and experience in tutoring or teaching in a classroom

  • Be flexible with the hours they can work and willing to commit to long-term

  • Be Confident in behavioural management skills. 

  • Be able to think on their feet and use different scaffolding strategies to teach the pupils

  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

Step Teachers are working with a secondary school in the King's Lynn and West Norfolk District to source an MFL teacher. This role is a full-time post and is available after the October half-term until Christmas, however, for the right candidate, this could be extended into the new year.

The Role:

  • Strong MFL curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable

  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent of

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching MFL

  • A relevant subject-specific degree is desirable

Step teachers are working with a school south of Norwich that is looking for a Science teacher to join their team after the October half-term. This position is offered on a full-time basis until Christmas, but this is likely to be extended beyond Chrismas and into the new year.

In the last Ofsted report, the school was rated as “Good”. The school leaders have a high expectations that are shared with staff and pupils. The school is a happy place where all get on well with each other and students are proud to wear their uniform. Their Behaviour is good and receives good teaching. Students have positive attitudes towards learning, and they enjoy coming to school. Students make good progress with teaching across most subjects being good.
